The Fundació Privada per a la Recerca Sant Joan de Déu is an entity created in 2002 to cover the research activity that is carried out, both in the biomedical and social sphere, at the Maternal and Infantile Hospital of Esplugues, in the Parc Sanitari de Sant Boi de Llobregat and in other centers of the Hospital Order San Juan de Dios - Province of Aragon San Rafael.

Job description

Position: R&D Engineer – Signal’s integration

Looking for: Proactive, able to take responsibility and responsive engineer (electronics/electrical/telecommunications engineering or computer science).

Context

BCNatal | Fetal Medicine Research Center, directed by Prof. Eduard Gratacós, is a multidisciplinary research centre in fetal and perinatal medicine, recognised as one of the world’s best research teams in the field. Accredited by the Spanish government as an excellence research centre, it works to find solutions to diseases of prenatal origin. The centre is ranked among the top international research groups in maternal-fetal medicine.
BCNatal-FMRC is the research branch of the BCNatal clinical centre, providing a privileged environment for clinically applicable and translational research.

Conditions
• Full time position
• Salary range: 23-30K€ per year (gross amount) depending on the experience of the
candidate.
• Economic bonuses depending on the objectives achieved
• Starting date: immediately from September 2021

Main purpose of the job
• Responsible of the design, development, prototyping and validation of the monitoring systems involved in the research project.
• Integrate and automate the different monitoring systems and theirs signals and design a synchronized system to store and display them in real time.
• Follow effective timetables and deadlines accomplishments, and to provide data and reports as required.

Main duties and responsibilities
• Design and development of the monitoring systems, contact developers, integrate existing systems, etc.
• Work with the team to define the requirements of the systems and equipment to be integrated.
• Validate the systems by means of performance and functional tests.
• System maintenance and support for its integration.
• Look for different supply providers and options to improve the current system.
• Maintain accurate records and document actions taken (documentation up to date).
• Ensure that system, prototypes, and documentation are delivered on time and seek the highest quality.
• Assist with the efficient collection, processing, validation, and quality assurance of data.
• Ensure prompt and efficient response to queries (daily trouble shooting), acknowledging all communication, and ensuring efficient flow of information
• Develop documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Perform other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job description as requested by the Principal Investigator, Scientific Manager or the Scientific Coordinator. This job description reflects the present requirements of the post, and as duties and responsibilities change/develop, the job description will be
reviewed and be subject to amendment in consultation with the post holder. The appointee will be expected to carry out any additional duties as may reasonably be required within the general scope and level of the post.

Requirements

Key Profile Requirements
Looking for an enthusiastic proactive candidate ideally with desires to grow and expand their knowledge and experience while working on a world-class R+D+i project.
The successful candidate should hold a degree in electronics/electrical/ telecommunications engineering or computer science, ideally with demonstrable experience in signal’s integration or working developing/embedding a monitoring-like systems. They should have excellent organizational and time management skills.
