The Fundació Privada per a la Recerca Sant Joan de Déu is an entity created in 2002 to cover the research activity that is carried out, both in the biomedical and social sphere, at the Maternal and Infantile Hospital of Esplugues, in the Parc Sanitari de Sant Boi de Llobregat and in other centers of the Hospital Order San Juan de Dios - Province of Aragon San Rafael.

Job description

 

We wish to incorporate a Manager for the development and coordination of patients involvement in paediatric clinical research at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and in the European project “Conect4Children”.

 

The conect4children is the panEuropean paediatric clinical trials network funded by IMI2. The working group is formed by 10 different institutions that we work together to guarantee the participation of patients across the different activities of the project, from the assessment of paediatric clinical trials protocols to the dissemination of the outcomes once these projects have been finished.

  • Minimal required background:

    • Experience in qualitative research in the field of health or health research.
    • Demonstrate expertise working closely with patients and/or patients organizations.
    • Knowledge in the field of clinical trials.
    • English proficiency to communicate and develop educational resources.

Funcions Principals

  • Management tasks:
    • Coordination of patients involvement activities at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and in the European project “Conect4Children. All the activities involve the different working packages and other type of activities, such as webinars, design of a white paper, etc.
    • Management of the small consortium involved in the patients involvement cross-cutting topic in the project (meetings, agendas, minutes, coordination of activities, reporting of activities following the rules of the European Commission, etc.).
    • Regular and annual reporting of activities.
    • Support to the communication and dissemination activities of the project and of the training activities.
    • Logistical organization of meetings, workshops and other events.

 

  • Technical tasks:
    • Design and development of patients involvement activities. From the recruitment of patients and parents to the execution and reporting of each activity. These activities are based in qualitative research methodologies (surveys, questionnaires, focus groups, etc.) and have an international perspective (involving patients and parents from different European countries).
    • Implement at Sant Joan de Déu Children’s Hospital the Patients Involvement Plan with a close collaboration with the different research teams of the institution designing and supporting activities of involving patients and parents in health research projects.
    • Design and creation of educational resources for patients.
    • Establish liaisons with patients’ organizations to support them in their involvement in research projects.

Requirements

 

  • University degree (preferable in Health Sciences).
  • Experience in Project management:
    • Providing on-going administrative, technical and scientific support to the management of a European Commission granted project.
    • Monitoring of the project work progress and monitoring of the risk management.
    • Internal communication with the partners. Preparing internal guidance and documents.
    • Organize, participate and write minutes of the working group meetings, teleconference and other documents.
    • Support with the technical and economical reporting of the project.
  • Good communication skills and empathy to liaise with patients and/or their caregivers.
  • Collaborative teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing multiple sub-projects simultaneously.
