The Fundació Privada per a la Recerca Sant Joan de Déu is an entity created in 2002 to cover the research activity that is carried out, both in the biomedical and social sphere, at the Maternal and Infantile Hospital of Esplugues, in the Parc Sanitari de Sant Boi de Llobregat and in other centers of the Hospital Order San Juan de Dios - Province of Aragon San Rafael.

Job description

Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona (HSJD) is a private non-profit institution, with a vocation for public service since its creation in 1867. Our hospital is dedicated to the comprehensive care for women, children and adolescents, has become one of the most important specialised centres in Europe in Paediatrics and Obstetrics and is a centre of reference in healthcare, teaching and research.
Our care is based on the multidisciplinary work of our professionals and is characterised by high specialisation which integrates cutting-edge technology not only to improve the health of our patients and the community, but also to advance scientific knowledge.
Through the Institute of Research of Sant Joan de Déu (IRSJD) and its Research Foundation (FSJD), we conduct research to find new and better treatments for maternal and foetal diseases, children and young adults health problems and mental health issues. As a University of Barcelona linked hospital, we contribute to the training of health professionals at different stages from undergraduate to master and doctorate degrees.
Within HSJD, the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Learning (DRIL), manages and coordinates the activities of the hospital related to the definition of the strategic agenda of its three areas of influence, overseeing the design, promotion and implementation of strategic institutional projects within them. Additionally, the Director of DRIL is also the Scientific Director of IRSJD.
We, at the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Learning, have an innovative approach to management and are seeking two (2) talented and motivated project managers to join us for the implementation of our strategic goals.
You will be key for boosting the research, innovation and learning culture and activity of SJD and will also play a pivotal role in the setup of our internationalisation and promotion agenda, amongst others, supporting and engaging with our healthcare and research professionals and actively participating in the creation of a vibrant scientific community.

 

Main responsibilities:

• Support the Research, Innovation and Learning Directorate in the overview and coordination of complex, multi-layered strategic institutional projects within the strategic plan of the DRIL and the IRSJD.
• Plan, execute and monitor the different activities of the projects using tools such as Gantt Charts to monitor work progress and setup risk management plans.
• Organize and prepare project meetings, TCs, workshops, conferences, scientific related committees (logistic, agenda, inviting participants, writing minutes, etc).

• Report on the activities within the different projects. These may include:

  • High quality periodic impact, outcomes and activity reports.
  • Preparation deliverables and milestones according to the established deadlines for the projects.
  • Writing Management reports
  • Management of tasks and subtasks timelines to ensure that the overall project timeline is respected.

• On communication and dissemination:

  • Prepare required documentation, presentations or materials
  • Internal communication with members of the team and all other stakeholders of the corresponding project.
  • Dissemination of project outcomes to all the interested stakeholders in an effective and innovative manner.

• On administrative daily tasks:

  • Liaise with and support Hospital Sant Joan de Déu clinical personnel who participates in the project.
  • Provide guidance to project partners (scientific orientation, mitigation plan, ethical issues, work plan, etc)
  • Look for providers, quotations, interface with third parties.
  • Support in preparing service contracts or other type or agreements to regulate the relationship with third parties.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Director and/or the Deputy Director and/or team of the DRIL.

The candidate must have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Dynamic, highly motivated, creative and proactive person with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge and experience in writing and managing complex collaborative projects.
  • Experience with entire project development process.
  • Fluent spoken and written English. Functional level in Spanish and Catalan within a reasonable period of time after hiring.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build a fluid relationship with different types of collaborators and actors in the ecosystem.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
    The following qualifications will be valued:
  • Previous experience in a consultancy firm or within the management structure of another biomedical centre or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Master degree or specialised training in Project Management.
  • Experience in the development of operational plans, risk management strategies, sustainability plans, governance models and business models.
  • Knowledge of the local, national and international healthcare ecosystem and their main actors.
