The Fundació Privada per a la Recerca Sant Joan de Déu is an entity created in 2002 to cover the research activity that is carried out, both in the biomedical and social sphere, at the Maternal and Infantile Hospital of Esplugues, in the Parc Sanitari de Sant Boi de Llobregat and in other centers of the Hospital Order San Juan de Dios - Province of Aragon San Rafael.

Job description

Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation opens a Pre-Award European Grants position to join the International Projects Office working specifically in the social innovation area.

 

The mission of Sant Joan de Déu's social action is to promote opportunities for personal and social development so that people and families at risk of social exclusion and/or in situations of vulnerability can carry out their own life projects autonomously and in community, accompanying them in a comprehensive and ethically responsible manner.

 

The person we are looking for will be responsible of assisting Sant Joan de Déu project leaders working in the social area in securing competitive European or International funds for research and innovation related activities that offer new solutions to the realities that they attend to on a daily basis. He/she will ensure that all projects applications are delivered to a high standard and in compliance with funder regulations and internal policies. The final objective of this position is to maximize the value of these projects to Sant Joan de Déu ecosystem in terms of research outcomes, outputs, dissemination and impact.

 

This position focuses on European Commission calls, ranging from “EU Programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI)”, “Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme (CERV)”, “Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF)”, “Horizon Europe”, “Erasmus+”, among others. It also includes other National and International public and private sources of funding that may be applicable to the ideas/projects identified.

 

The person we are looking for must be proactive, responsible and able to work accurately under the pressure of deadlines. He/she should be able to adapt ideas into valuable projects, be creative, flexible, empathic, and service-oriented. We search for a professional with good communication and teamwork skills.

Given the complex and competitive landscape of funding opportunities at European and international level, we need someone who is versatile and able to learn and adapt quickly, putting into practice new knowledge with flexibility and rigor.

 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • To be aware of the activity of the different stakeholders within Sant Joan de Déu with interests in the area of social innovation. Getting to know their ideas, their needs and the project portfolio.
  • To have an in-depth knowledge of European/international competitive funding programmes, applicable policies and regulations, and to keep up to date.
  • To have an in-depth knowledge of other European funding managed at National or Regional level, such as FEDER or Next Generation.
  • To promote within key stakeholders at SJD participation in European/international calls suitable for the ideas identified.
  • To promote within key SJD stakeholders participation in Social Innovation Ecosystems at Regional, National and European level.
  • Identification of networks, actions and initiatives that may represent a strategic opportunity for both the Institution and the project leaders.
  • Attendance at conferences, information sessions, partnering events and meetings of interest with funding agencies.
  • Professional support for the preparation of European/international proposals:
    • Evaluation of the suitability of the project with the topic/call and evaluation criteria.
    • Design and structure of the project and the consortium.
    • Elaboration of the project proposal.
    • Preparation of the budget.
    • Providing institutional information and other cross-cutting issues of the proposal.
    • Logistical and administrative support for the submission.
  • Organisation of information seminars for project leaders.
  • Participate in the International Projects Office transversal activities.

 

We offer:

  • Permanent employment within the International Projects Office at Fundació Sant Joan de Déu.
  • Trial period of 4 months.
  • Preferably immediate hiring.
  • Working day: Full time (37,5 hours).
  • Location: Esplugues de Llobregat next to the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu.
  • Economic conditions according to profile and knowledge provided.

 

Requirements

 

Requirements:

  • University studies in social sciences.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar position working with similar type of funding programmes.
  • Fluent in reading and writing Spanish and Catalan.
  • Fluent in reading and writing English.
  • Availability of occasional travels locally and abroad.
  • Personal skills:
    • Demonstrated ability in managing multiple sub-projects simultaneously.
    • Autonomous and responsible. Strong organization and time management skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks effectively and respect deadlines.
    • Creative, proactive and with initiative. Looking for improvement, efficiency and quality in the processes.
    • Collaborative teamwork skills.

  • Deep knowledge on methodological approaches in social sciences (qualitative and participatory approaches, social theory, …)
  • Related courses project proposal preparation will be valuable
